FOR THE REAL DEVELOPMENT !

• Youth Day, Independence Day were celebrated. On Oct 2nd, village birth day is going to be celebrated. On this day Mr A Srinivasa Reddy,an old Student of the ZPH School, Muppalla is giving dresses to 50 students (10 students from each class 6th to 10th class)
   
• Long pending issue on Toilets in the ZPH School got resolved with Pragathi's intervention. Now, the children are using toilets.
• So far 3 distinguished and eminent personalities who are the citizens of America, visited our village during August-Septmeber 2009
• 20 days India tour by the volunteers of Pragathi
• On 14th November, all the old students of ZPH School are invited to a meeting to felicitate the retired Head Masters and retired teachers
• A team of doctors from Katuri Medical college,Guntur visit the village to assess and help the people affected with the fluorosis which contaminate drinking water for the ages.
• Yuwa India with a team of 4 people visited and spoke with the DWACRA women, people in ST colony, Rajaka colony and SC colony about their health,education and unemployment problems.

Year 2008 : 

• Independence day in the ST Colony on 15th Aug 2008
• Pragathi finds lot of ignorance in the  people of this colony who are under the verge of affecting  HIV/AIDS and due to lack of awareness about taking precautions. We can chart out the program in few days. We recommend health department to attend this event and assess the situation here. We feel by serving the youth and children we can atleast influence the future generations to come out this great ignorance.

• Village Birth Day was celebrated on 2nd October 2007 on Mahatma Gandhi's birth day.
•   Grama Sabha was conducted with all the villagers
•   Critical issues like drinking water,sanitation,livelihood,education and clean&green in the village was  discussed by the senior villagers along with Pragathi members in the village.
•   Actions taken so far regarding fluorosis problem and arrive at an opinion for the next action plan.
•   Video on Observe_Adopt_Implement-Slow poisoning of India  
•   School with no compound causing problems to the pupils

Year 2007 :

•   Watch Inspiring speech by MLA to stop consuming liquor                   
    Around 60 students of Harijan School were served with new dresses (each student got a pair of new clothes).  Scholarship was given to an engineering girl student  from a poor family
•   All the websites(http://chagantivaripalem.com/,www.mandalparishad-muppalla.com, www.pragathi.info and other associated organizations) 
  were given a presentation at the function.
•   Children of Harijan School played a drama to promote studies in the Government schools and not in private schools.

•   A projector sent from USA was used specifically for the presentation to create more awareness.

• Competition held for debate, essay writing and talent test
  Prizes were distributed to around 70 students
  Mementos and appreciation letters were distributed to the speakers by Pragathi Welfare Society
  Distinguished people talked about Swami Vivekananda by remembering his work and teachings

• Poor people were given blankets
• Distinguished people talked about the work of Mahatma Gandhi by remembering him
   
  • Distribution of Medicines for Chikun Gunya
        Around 10,000 people got the Homeo Medicine for Chikun Gunya
  • Meeting organized by Pragathi and Loksatta - Mandal Parishad Elections - for the contestants.Contestants were given a questionaire what do they do if they win or if they lose
  • All the contestants(of all the parties) were requested to come onto a common stage for the  open   meeting
  • Each party contestant was asked the questions by Loksatta, Guntur
