Floods in Andhra Pradesh - Let us Help the suffering !
Let us help the needy and the suffering affected by floods in Andhra Pradesh,India(South).Many people are donating clothes, rice etc. But the affected people need the following help immediately where they are not getting much help.
Some Facts1) These floods are two and half times severe than the one experienced in South India for the past 100 years
2) Districts affected : Kurnool, Mahabubnagar,Krishna,Nalgonda and Guntur
3) 13 lakh people affected by floods in Andhra Pradesh
4) 6,295 livestock also perished in the five districts with 6,189 cattle loss reported in the worst-affected Kurnool district alone
5) More than 200 people reported died officially.Casualties may increase more due to diseases and post floods.
6) 478 villages in 87 'mandals' have been severely hit
7) The heaviest flood in river Krishna in last more than 100 years
Help needed
It is known that most of these issues were taken care of by the Government and others at a large scale like Food like Bread and Jam which wont spoil for a week or so
Medicines for allergies, fever, headache and Antibiotics
Drinking Water and other eatables not spoiled for a week or so
Also when we contacted the MV Foundation (http://www.mvfindia.in/) at Kurnool, we were told that Government and others helped the text books and other infra structure. Now there is a need for the kind of a kit consiting of school bag,cum box,pencil,pen,notebooks etc to every student.
Newly identified needs
- House construction by Rotary in the Government land at Alampur
- Books(text or notes) to the school children
- School infrastructure
