          FOR THE YOUTH

• Going to set up two computers in the library as part of the youth club - Sarath's father Badari uncle will help teaching the youth.
• For sports and games - few members who have already been in the cricket are identified and they will be the members of youth club.

          FOR THE Z P H SCHOOL

• Old students association of our ZPH School is going to be formed with all 10th out students from the school. I request you to get the list of your 10th batch mates from the school HM.

          FOR THE LIBRARY

• I have bought many good books (please have a look at them at Pattabhi brother's house) for the library. But I came to know that Library is not functioning at all. No one is there to pursue this. Pragathi needs to pursue this with the Government.

          FOR THE VILLAGE CLEAN AND GREEN

• When I had a quick walk in and around the village, it appears to me that the drainages are not in good condition and open which needs to be taken care of immediately.I spoke with Sarpanch, MPP, MPDO, MLA and others. If nothing works out, I am going to write to the collector with a cc to the cm and governor as was done in the case of fluorosis issue. I feel, all the open drainage should have temporary closure so as to remove the cover when it needs to be cleaned.There is no good awareness or I can say it is laziness about the sanitation and clean and green which I feel is the priority after the youth activities (youth club)

          IDENTIFICATION OF GOOD VOLUNTEERS

• Good thing is we could identify few active youth who can help Pragathi to achieve its goals and started working with them. We had a good meeting in Hyderabad before I left for USA.

          SOME GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS ANNOUNCED

• Leelamma from USA, ASR(Guravaiah gari srinu, Rambabu[Linga Reddy's son] are interested to help the poor and meritorious students of the ZPH School
• Sudarshan, who is a maths lecturer has shown his interest to help the ZPH School students to improve their mathematics capabilities
• Ranga Reddy, popular for his selfless attitude in the village, who is the PA to our MLA has taken the responsibility to form good group at ground level to take forward our activities
• Seshaiah (RMP doctor), Rajyalakshmi are interested to actively involve in Pragathi activities regarding health care and village development.
• Narasimha Rao, who is a teacher is interested to take care of members to the youth club - they have a cricket team who played among around 40 teams across our Mandal and Sattenapalle area.

          GOVERNMENT PROJECT

• Pragathi has applied for a Sanitation project , which we need to work with the government if it is approved - we may need to have good volunteers who would be paid upon the execution of the project

• Our classmates(around 20 people) who have attended our youth day meeting after around 25 years have shown their interest to iniate the old students association for the ZPH School and contribute some funding towards it.tI spoke with Krishna Reddy Master, Mr.TSN Raja, Mr.Gopala Krishna Reddy(ICRISAT), Ramalinga Reddy(professor) and other seniors from the school regarding Old Students Association.

          VISITING DISTINGUISHED PEOPLE

• We visited many distinguished people - Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Speaker of the AP Assembly, Minister Jayapal Reddy, Cine actor Brahmanandam garu, Cine Actor Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam garu(From Ballikurava Mandal - his brother and I used to work together),Cine Actor Chakravarthy - we requested many of them to promote the Catalyst magazine
• My Question to Kalam was if we can have Abdul Kalam TV to spread inpiration to the youth of our country.

          SUBSCRIPTIONS TO THE CATALYST MAGAZINE

• I have got more than 30 subscriptions for the Catalyst magazine in just 3 days(My target was 100 in 30 days) 

          MEETINGS

• We along with our MLA and MP Vice President attended IDCA conference in New Delhi apart from our Youth Day and TiE Pan-IIT Entrepreneurship Mentoring Program.I have requested Pan IIT if this entrepreneurship mentoring program can be taken to the villages where PRAGATHI can volunteer it

          OUR MLA

• Good thing is our MLA garu is known for morals in the constituency whom we need to support by talking to him now and then. His number is 94402 64464. He is quite challenging to help whatever the good can be done to the society.

          ZPH SCHOOL NEED OUR MONITORING

• The teaching in the ZPH School is not appears to be good. This is because no good monitoring by any one. Pragathi - i.e., its volunteers should monitor for the betterment of the school. Once we officially form the Old Students Association, we can do this easily.

          VISITING A MODEL VILLAGE

• We visited Palapadu which is a model village near Narasaraopet. They are interested to help us to gain more knowledge and by sharing their work.They got drinking water project by contributing from the villagers and Nandi Foundation

• One person who has shown great interest in our villages development is Mr. Gopala Krishna Reddy who is visiting USA sometime this month.
  
  

  Few comments/questions by the people in the village

What has Pragathi done in the village till now ? Why it has done to the great level ?
My answer was - Pragathi is not a government body and it is a voluntury organization.Whatever it has the capacity it would do.If it doesnt have, it cant do and it wont.

We hear you misuse the funds.Where do you get the funds from ?
My answer was - We merely have funds. Where is the question of misuing it ? We have spent our own money from our pocket to educate the people, to create awareness about clean and green, HIV/AIDS, better education, importance of youth etc.by having many meetings. Why do we need to eat our own money ?

What are the projects you are going to take up ?
No one knows. We have not yet got any project from the Government till now. We are interested in YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, who only can develop the village by developing themselves

Why Sapranch is not working properly ?
It is you, who have to aswer yourselves. You are in the village and not me.If you write to Pragathi, we will talk to the Pachayat officer and Collector about this.

There are around 45 HIV infected cases unkowingly in the village because of no good awareness ? What would Pragathi do for this ?
We need to have good number of volunteers. Government has great funds for this. Without volunteers, no use of getting projects.It would fail if we have no good force.

The ZPH School is not functioning properly. What can Pragathi do for this ?
Our Old Student Association is the immediate solution for this. We are pursuing with DEO and other higher officials on the same.

Why do you give scholarships to those people who wont come for the meeting at all and dont use properly ?
We need to take more precautions before giving the scholarships to the poor. Request you to help us who is misusing the scholarships given to them.

Children are suffering from musquito bites. Even Dengue fever killed a person in the village. What do you say about this ?
Drainages should not be open. Need to ask the Pachayat to use the powder and sprinklers to avoid this situation. Need to see the drainage flow freely without blocking the water.Village should follow good sanitation and clean and green. Pragathi is creating awareness among the people about all this.

Apart from the above we have got suggestions from many people - mainly our MLA garu and Sarvodaya Prasad garu that the attitude of the people should change. Unless their attitude changes, no good progress happens. Government is spending lot of money for many schemes. If people dont have awareness, all the schemes would go waste. Pragathi NGO should note this point - creating more and more awareness among the people with more meetings like what we are doing now.
